LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF
Hello, I’m Jay Lambert, an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a rich Métis heritage. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare transformation, particularly within First Nations environments, I bring a unique perspective to my coaching and consulting work.
My Unique Approach
As a coach, I blend Indigenous ways of knowing with evidence-based best practices to create a holistic and culturally sensitive coaching experience. My training with TAHI, the world’s first ICF accredited Indigenous coach training program, enriches my approach, allowing me to integrate diverse perspectives and methodologies. I provide a relaxed yet focused environment, helping clients to reframe their stories using a strengths-based approach. With my support, leaders tap into their innate creativity, resourcefulness, and wholeness, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
Transforming Challenges into Opportunities
My journey into coaching was sparked by a personal transformation. Overcoming burnout and adrenal fatigue, I moved from a state of health crisis to thriving. I have also battled depression and anxiety, and with the help of coaching and appropriate clinical supports, I am now medication-free. This experience, coupled with my Métis identity, has deeply influenced my approach to wellness and resilience. Coaching has been transformational for me, going from burned out, always tired, and experiencing a foggy brain to feeling and functioning better than I have in over a decade. This transformation has allowed me to get clearer on my life’s purpose and take transformational steps toward achieving it.
Cultural Sensitivity and International Expertise
With over two decades of experience working with First Nations across Canada and six months living and working with the Māori in Aotearoa (New Zealand), I have developed deep cultural sensitivity and expertise. My international work also includes contributing to the development of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) in the Philippines. My services are primarily offered virtually, ensuring global accessibility, with in-person coaching available in select situations.

Meaning behind the logo
This image was designed for me by a Maori artist, Hori Wihongi. The theme is Kaitiaki, or guardianship, specifically of the sky, the sea and the land. The picture stylistically represents the Maori story of creation. On the left is the Sky Father Ranginui, on the right is Earth Mother Papatuanuku. One of their children, Tanemahuta, pushed earth and sky apart allowing light to come into the world. For my business, this represents my ability to integrate Indigenous and Western practices, stemming from my Métis ancestry—a fusion of European and Cree cultures. We are interconnected; consequently, we must collectively confront challenges together.
